Today, I learned probably one of the most important lessons of my life. No, there wasn’t a big “AH HA!” moment or anything, just me and my mom in her room, sitting on the bed talking. She said to me, “Sometimes, it isn’t about what’s happening to you. Bad things happen to really, really good people. But in the end, it doesn’t matter what does or doesn’t happen to you. In the end, it’s about how many people you’ve touched; doesn’t matter how, but at the end of each day, ask yourself, ‘How many people have I changed today, just by being there?’ And that’s really what matters.” I’ve thought about it even more now, I may not feel it, but I matter in people’s lives. There are dozens of people I love, and who love me. In the end, I guess that’s all that really matters in life. I finally feel like I’ve come home. They say home is where the heart is, not where your house sits. No kidding. Everything really is fine guys, and don’t ever forget it.
